Throwing an Affordable Child’s Birthday Party

If you want to throw a birthday party for your child, or for the child of your friend, or your own niece or nephew, you might want to take note of a few simple tips that will allow you to put together a great party without breaking the bank. Our tips are simple and cheap to implement, but they will still create a party that is very fun for the kids, and the kids won’t know that you did it inexpensively. It may require a bit more effort on your part, but with just a bit of effort and no special skills, you are fully capable of throwing a great kid’s party.

The first thing we recommend is getting rid of the birthday cake, since that often costs a lot of money if you buy it custom made. You can get a cheap one at the grocery store, but the flavor is not likely to be great, but most kids won’t complain any way—they just want something sweet! What we recommend instead of the cake is some homemade cupcakes. Cupcakes are easier to frost on your own than a full sized cake, and they are an informal item anyway—nobody expects them to look perfect. But you can use some simple cupcake decorations and make any cupcake look great. The easiest way to go is to frost the cake with your choice of frosting and then just use sprinkles on the top. These can be multi-colored or solid colored sprinkles. You can also buy some little individual cupcake picks or toppers and put one on top of each cupcake for just a few cents per cupcake. These items can be found online or at a party supply shop. To give your party the final touch, we recommend buying a cheap cupcake stand and using it to create a showpiece of your cutely decorated cupcakes!
